The Marathon is a Convertible Child Seat with LATCH that can be used rear facing for children 5 to 30 pounds and forward facing for children up to 65 pounds.

Accommodates children between 18 and 49 inches in height.
These height and weight limitations mean that the seat can be used for a new born baby up to a four year old child.

Please note that both the American and Canadian Pediatrics Societies recommend that a child be rear-facing until he/she is 12 months old and 20 lbs. Thereafter the child can be forward facing.

• The Five-Point Polyester Harness, with strong no-tangle polyester webbing, fits snugly over the child's shoulders, collarbone and hips providing a more secure fit as your child grows.
• Versa-Tether is patented by Britax, for the most security in both forward and rear facing installations. The Britax Marathon manual explains two rearfacing tether methods, both of which provide greater safety for your child.
• Bicycle helmet style styrofoam inside the seat shell increases the impact resistance of the Marathon over other car seats.
• The Marathon now has a modified EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) foam insert to increase available shoulder width room.
• The Patented "Floating" HUGS System is designed to better distribute webbing loads to reduce head movement and minimize the chance for webbing edge loading on the child's neck in the case of an impact. In addition, it is designed to reduce the chance of improper positioning of the chest clip.
• Built in Lock-Offs, both forward facing and rear facing, are designed for easy reach and operation when using traditional belt routing.
• Four different shoulder harness positions will accommodate the taller child and the newly designed base allows for a more secure fit in most cars.
